Diehl Metall Malaysia is a 100% subsidiary of Griset Griset is a French company specialized in rolling and conditioning of copper and copper alloys mainly for the electronic industry, and all kind of industrial applications. Producing currently 18000 metric tons per year finished copper and copper alloys products, it employs nowadays 240 persons on the site of Villers St Paul, at 50 Km north of Paris, France. The total turn over of the company is 100 Million Euros. Founded in 1760 by Antoine Griset , it became rapidly a well known specialized producer of rolled strips first in silver and later in copper and aluminium. For instance, the platinum bar used to produce the standard meter was rolled by Griset. Griset has been acquired in 1997 by the German industrial group “Diehl“ ,a significant player in the production of rolled copper and copper alloyed strips in Germany, France and USA and world leader in rolled bronzes. Diehl is also world wide active in the manufacturing of control systems for white products and technology for the aircraft and military industries. It represents now 40 different companies worldwide employing totally 11 000 persons, with a turn-over of 2.2 billion Euros. In 2005, Griset has decided to establish a subsidiary in Malacca called Diehl Metall Malaysia, for the manufacturing of dual gauge strips, for the power lead frame production, to supply its main customers in the Asia region. Production started in October 2006 to reach its full capacity in april 2007. Diehl Metall Malaysia achieved the ISO9001:2000 certification in January 2008 to consolidate its position in the worldwide non ferrous metals processing industry. The plant is currently operated by about 25 persons under the supervision of a French management. |
