The finance committee was created early 2008 and has 10 active participants, with different profiles (CFO of industrial and services companies, bank, insurance, and audit experts) sharing the same interests. Its objective is to enhance networking within CFO of French Companies and Financial Services Sectors in Malaysia. From time to time it organizes talks related to Economy, Finance, Tax, Banking, Securities and other related matters.

On Thursday, 22nd April 2010, the MFCCI Finance Committee organised a breakfast talk on access to funding and managing working capital effectively for SMEs with 3 speakers from our member HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad.
Firstly, Ms Chuah Guat Mey, Senior Manager of Commercial Banking covered generic topic on Malaysia Small Business Confidence Monitor, brief ideas on advisory channel to SMEs, access to funding and managing working capital effectively. The second topic was about SME’s international trade solutions covered by Cheon Sui Kheng, Vice President of Trade and Supply Chain. She also touched on the risk mitigation for international trade and other fast track solutions within the trade platform. To finish, Wazi Ahmed Taquiddin, Vice President of Receivable Finance made a presentation that illustrates receivable finance as one of the preferred ‘open account’ solutions to facilitate trade transactions. The conference gathered about 30 participants, and a lot of questions were risen by the audience.
