The tourism committee was created in September 2008 and has 18 active participants, representing different sectors of activity related to the tourism business. Its main objective is to develop a strong network among main tourism players (hotels & resorts, travel agents, restaurants, schools of tourism, Airlines, etc…) and work closer with major institutions (Ministry of Tourism, Embassy, etc…) to promote Malaysia as a destination.

The French Embassy decided this year to entrust the organisation of the cocktail of the French National day (14th of July) to the Tourism committee of MFCCI. Members of the committe provided or sponsored food & beverage and served quality French food to the Ambassador’s guests.
The companies involved in this event were: Gourmandines, The Blackboard, Pullman Putrajaya, Novotel Hydromajestic, Ma Maison, Le Meridien, The French Culinary School in Asia, Cuisine Studio, Nathalie’s Gourmet Studio, Westin Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Golden Palm Tree Villa & Spa Sepang Gold Coast, Classic Fine Foods, Pernod Ricard and Monin Asia.
The Tourism comitee of MFCCI has for objective to the development of tourism activities between France and Malaysia with the support of some 20 companies representing 4 differents activities linked to Tourism:
- Hotels and Resorts with firstly the increasing presence of the ACCOR group, with Novotel Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, Pullmann in Putrajaya and Kuching and Mercure Johore Baru, then Club Med in Cherating, Bukit Tinggi Colmar Tropicale and more recently Sepang Gold Coast without forgetting the Shangri-la, Sheraton, Park Royal and Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel. Antara Holiday Villa also joined the comittee following the opening of its first hotel in Paris
- French Restaurants in Malaysia (Le Bouchon, Urban Picnic, Cuisine Studio, etc...). - Inbound travel agents (Borneo Incentives, Pro-Eco, Bamboo Adventures, Europcar, etc...)
- Tourism schools and training centre such as Taylor's College and HTC Asia - Air Transport with KLM-AIR FRANCE, EMIRATES, etc....
- Associate in Paris: AB and ARTHO, our network link on tourism in Paris with Adlina Borhan, former Tourism Malaysia representative in France
