Speaker: Marie Tseng, Founding Director, Cultural Impact

Dear members & friends,

Malaysia is a country with a rich multicultural history.  As a vibrant marketplace which also serves as a gateway to the wider ASEAN region, Malaysia has long welcomed multinationals, international and regional SMEs, and start ups.  All of this brings with it a diverse workforce with a wide variety of corporate and cultural differences.  Developing intercultural competences is therefore quickly moving from “nice to have” to “must have”.

Research has shown that culturally savvy organisations perform better than their competitors, and with the global marketplace playing an increasingly significant role, investing in developing these intercultural competences is key to being a part of, and building, successful teams in Malaysia.

This workshop is designed to significantly improve participants’ ability to perform in the Malaysian multicultural environment.  The session will provide both expatriates in Malaysia, and their Malaysian colleagues, with essential information and tips to adapt faster, enabling them to collaborate with colleagues of different backgrounds, specifically in a Malaysian context.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
* comprehend the impact of cultures in the work place
* use a proven competence – base framework to build intercultural competences: Intercultural Readiness
* decipher different cultural expectations and adapt their behaviors accordingly
* optimize their communication in a Malaysian context
* handle challenging situations effectively.

Who should attend?
Expats, Malaysian employees who work in multicultural environments, team leaders, managers.
