Malaysia Budget 2020: HRDF’s Plan-of-action to Upskill the Local Workforce

In October, the Federal Government has announced the Malaysian Budget 2020, which includes a RM50 million budget allocation to the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF). By allocating RM30 million for TVET and an additional RM20 million towards upskilling Malaysians through professional certification examination, the Fund aims to reduce the country’s unemployment rate. According to the Chairman, Dato’ Noor Farida Mohd Ariffin, HRDF plans to execute this mandate by collaborating with the Human Resources Ministry, industry players, and employers, to provide TVET training programs.
