New Overstay Management Programme

Effective 21 October 2025, the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) has introduced the Program Pengurusan Tinggal Lebih Masa (Overstay Management Programme) to strengthen compliance and management of overstay cases.

Under this programme, Employment Pass (EP) and Dependant Pass (DP) holders who commit an overstay not exceeding 90 days will be compounded without referral to the respective Bahagian Penguatkuasa Imigresen Department (Enforcement Division).

For Employment Pass (EP) and Dependant Pass (DP) holders:
Overstays of up to 90 days can now be settled by paying a compound fine, without referral to the Enforcement Division.

Compound Rates:

  • 1–30 days: RM30 per day
  • 31–60 days: RM1,000
  • 61–90 days: RM2,000

Not eligible: Overstays over 90 days, repeated offences, Special Pass holders, or those with criminal or immigration records.

Reminder:
Submit renewal or extension applications at least 3 months before expiry to avoid overstays and penalties.
