Morning Talk The Audit Isn't Over Yet - Mastering Post-Audit Procedures and Appeals

CCIFM hosted a Morning Talk on Post-Audit Procedures and Appeals on 7 August 2025, at our Plaza Sentral Business Center. This session was organized as a follow-up to the previous talk on tax audit and investigation procedures, and focused in on what happens after the audit ends. Philip Lim, Tax Director at Forvis Mazars, led the session, drawing on his extensive experience in audit resolution and dispute management. He provided practical insights into how companies can protect their interests, mitigate financial and legal risks and confidently approach the post-audit landscape with strategic clarity. The talk aimed at providing tax managers, finance professionals, and business leaders with a comprehensive understanding of the post-audit process.

The discussion covered the interpretation of final audit findings as well as practical approaches to responding to tax adjustments. Participants were guided through the implications of each stage in the post-audit phase, with emphasis on how early and informed actions can significantly affect a company’s compliance status, financial exposure and future audit preparedness. The importance of having a structured response strategy was underscored, as missteps during this period can lead to penalties, missed appeal opportunities or reputational risks. The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A, allowing attendees to clarify concerns specific to their industries and gain tailored advice on post-audit best practices.
