Every year, the Institute for Research on Contemporary Southeast Asia (Irasec) works in collaboration with 20 expert researchers on a study of Southeast Asia.

The book aims to provide a summary and detailed analysis on the main political, economic and social events that occurred in 2018 in each of the eleven countries of the region. It also addresses five topics dealt at the regional level.

•     Demographic dynamics and processes of urbanization of large cities
•     The development model of export processing zones
•     The new silk road and Chinese investments in Southeast Asia.
•     Practical tools, including a fact sheet and a chronology by country gathering the         main social, economic and environmental indicators
•     Summary of the demographic indicators mentioned above.

The launching will take place in conjunction with the [French Talks] On Pencak Silat martial arts in Malaysian society: A French anthropologist’s view by Gabriel Facal followed by a networking cocktail.
