Economic Outlook 2025

The Economic Outlook 2025 conference, held on 28th February 2025 at Hilti Asia IT Services, provided valuable insights into the economic landscape for the year ahead. Organized by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with CCIFM, the Canada Chamber of Commerce, Malaysia Dutch Business Council (MBDC), and Malaysia Spanish & Chamber Industry (La Camara), the conference addressed key economic trends and projections shaping the Malaysian economy in 2025.

Dr. Anthony Dass, the Executive Director of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER), was the featured speaker. With over three decades of experience, Dr. Dass shared his expertise on economic forecasting, drawing on his previous roles as Senior Economist at Bank Negara Malaysia and Chief Economist at AmBank. He also discussed his role as a Special Officer for the Economic Action Council, where he contributed to strategic economic policies during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The conference provided attendees with valuable perspectives on the economic factors that will influence business strategies in 2025, from emerging trends to regulatory changes. It offered a unique opportunity for networking and preparing businesses for the economic challenges and opportunities in the year ahead.
