Visit to the Southern Region
13th June 2017 - The CCIFM Manufacturing Committee organized a one day visit to the southern region and about 20 companies were part of this trip.
We visited 3 French companies along the road, starting from Joubert in Melaka. Joubert manufactures Elastic Cord and Tie Down Strap for the two wheels vehicle and car accessories market. The plant in Malaysia is mainly supplying to the European and United States market.
This was followed by a visit to ST Microelectronics in Muar, a leading semiconductor manufacturer. Today ST Muar exemplifies a genuine state-of-the-art semiconductor assembly and test facility, using diverse technologies in a wide range of applications. Their products are used in a variety of microelectronics applications including telecommunications systems, consumer products, automotive products, and industrial automation and control systems.
We then headed down to Kluang to visit of Terreal Malaysia, a manufacturer and distributor of clay roofing tiles. On the day of our visit Tereal official inaugurated their second plant in Kluang. Both plants in Kluang are equipped with up to date technology, producing high quality clay tiles and distributes its products to South East Asian markets.
The day ended with a cocktail and dinner at Chez Papa, a French Restaurant in Johor Bharu, where more members from the southern region join the gathering.
