Webinar: 2021 Digital Malaysia Roadmap

CCIFM along with SMCC (Swiss Malaysian Chamber of Commerce) and La Camara (Malaysia Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry) organized a webinar on 2021 Digital Malaysia Roadmap.

Digitalization is very important at this age and time and it cuts across all industries. 2020 has been the year in which we have seen a massive leap on in the speed in which we all had to embrace digitalization.

The recent launch of MyDIGITAL, an economic blue print of Malaysia’s 10-year bid to revitalize its digital economy, is a huge step from the government to reboot and implement the nation’s transformation into a technologically-advanced economy by 2030.

We welcomed two key agencies with will play a crucial role in heading this changes, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC)

Our speakers Mr. Sivavenayakam Velayutham, Head of Business Development, Investment & Industry Development of MDEC and Mr. Rajen Dorairaj, Senior Manager – Partnership of MaGIC gave us an insightful webinar regarding the digital industry in Malaysia.

Mr. Siva gave us an in depth explanation about the evolution of Malaysia’s digital economy from 1996 up till 2020 and beyond. He also shared with us the programs and plans MDEC has come up with for netizens to be part of the digital world and to contribute to the digital economy.

Moreover, Mr. Rajen spoke about MaGIC’s mandate in the Malaysian startup ecosystem and national technology innovation Sandbox. He also spoke about programs that have been created for foreign startups that will be helpful for foreigners.
