World's Leading Machinery Manufacturer, Manitou Opens its First Center In Asia

KUALA LUMPUR, 28 November 2016: The world’s leading manufacturer of material-handling equipment with international renowned brands like Manitou, Gehl and Mustang officially opens an office in Malaysia to better serve its local customers, and the development of its business activities in the region.

The Manitou group has been present in Malaysia for nearly twenty years through a local partner. Withthe positive growth in its segment of reaching half of the market share segment, enables the French manufacturer to further solidify its presence with the aim to double its capacity through solid operations in the country.

 

“We see Malaysia as a great potential especially with a large fleet of telescopic handlers. As a fast developing nation, we see Manitou’s presence as timely because of the potential market of its sectors,which require all terrain material-handling equipment,” said Julien Poupart, Operations Manager, Manitou Malaysia. 

 

The 900 m² site located in Sungai Buloh has been operating since January 2016 where it is responsible to sell and rent its products, including machines under the Group’s brands. Other support services such repair services, service contracts, extended warranty and financing are also available. With the assurance of supplying its customers with high-quality equipment, the Malaysian office oversees all of the services corresponding to the standards defined by the Manitou group. This initiative also enables the Group to be engaged directly and continuously improve the products and services offered by Group’s brands.

Malaysia represents the second-largest fleet of Manitou telescopic handlers in Asia. This fleet requires a commercial presence and increases provision of services on site.

"The opening of this office in Malaysia is very important for the development of Manitou’s services and solutions offered to our customers at their doorstep. We want to provide them with a service adapted to their requirements. In particular, we have a rental fleet of new telehandlers with various height to enable our customers to develop their activities with latest-generation equipment,” added Julien Poupart. At the launch, business partners and members of the media were treated to a tour of the new office and also the showcase display of its latest products which includes the first of its kind displayed in Asia namely the Manitou Man’go 12 platform and Manitou telescopic handler MHT-X 790. Also on display was the Gehl R260 skid steer loader. These rough terrain machines are all adapted to different types of markets: construction, agriculture or industries.
