Shakirin currently serves as the Assistant Vice President for TalentCorp’s Residence Pass–Talent (RP-T) programme. He oversees the end-to-end management of RP-T applications and leads strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing TalentCorp’s engagement with highly skilled expatriates in Malaysia. His role involves close coordination with key government stakeholders, including the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) and the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM), to ensure eective alignment of policy implementation and facilitation for expatriate talent.
He brings with him a solid background in finance and regulatory operations, having previously served at the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FIMM), the regulatory body for the Malaysian unit trust and investment management industry. He also held earlier roles in the banking sector with AmBank and HSBC.
Shakirin holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Sarawak, and applies a practical, solution-oriented approach to his work, bridging policy and industry perspectives to support Malaysia’s evolving talent landscape.
