CCIFM Celebrates 60 Years of Business Relationship between Malaysia and France
CCI France Malaysia (CCIFM), gathered the French and Malaysian business community on the 18th January 2018 at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the 60 Years of business relationship between Malaysia and France. France was second nation after Great Britain to acknowledge the sovereign of Malaysia upon independence in 1957 and both countries have since shared a thriving relationship.
As every year, the Gala Night brought together French companies to showcase the dynamism of the Malaysian-French Business Community and its contribution towards the development of the country.
Over 350 guests were welcomed by Mr. Gilles Waeldin, President of CCIFM, in the presence of H.E Frederic Laplanche, French Ambassador to Malaysia and the Guest of Honour, The Honorable Y.B. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade & Industry, Malaysia.
The chamber took the opportunity of the 60 years of Malaysia-France Gala Night to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) our partner. The MOU further strengthens the relations and cooperation between the two parties for the promotion of French Investment in Malaysia and the support of French companies willing to develop their activities in Malaysia.
Every year, selected French and Malaysian companies or individuals are granted with an award of excellence for their admirable performance, achievement and contribution to the Malaysian French Business Community and contribution towards the development of bilateral trade between Malaysia and France. The award encourages continuous improvement, innovation and creativity of French & Malaysian companies/individuals to enhance their local and global competitiveness.

· The award of “Outstanding Achievements (Large Company)” was granted to SAINT GOBAIN GLASS
· The award of “Outstanding Achievements (SME)” was granted to MANITOU MALAYSIA MH SDN BHD
· The award of “Image of France” was granted to L'OREAL MALAYSIA SDN. BHD.
· The award of “Corporate Social Responsibility” was granted to INTERNATIONAL SOS (M) Sdn Bhd.
· The Special Jury Prize as the “Start-up of the Year” was granted to ENTOFOOD
It was a captivating night, animated by entertaining performances with renowned artists such as the standup comedian Rizal Van Geyzel and the talented singer Dayang Nurfaizah as well as object manipulation performers, Psycusix.
Lucky guest walked away with fabulous lucky draw gifts from Decathlon, Club Med, a return business class ticket by Air France to Paris.
